Small Business Loans

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Thomas_Morva]Thomas Morva After determining the level of working capital, a firm has to decide how it is to be financed. The need for financing arises mainly because the investment in working capital/current assets - that is, raw materials, work/stock-in-process, finished goods and receivables - typically fluctuates during the year. Although long-term loans partly finance current assets and provide the margin money for working capital, such assets/working capital is virtually exclusively supported by short-term sources. When talking about small business loans, it is necessary to understand the term trade credit. Trade credit refers to the credit extended by the supplier of goods and services in the normal course of transaction/business of the firm. According to trade practices, cash is not paid immediately for purchases but after an agreed period of time. Thus, trade credit represents a source of finance for credit purchases. There are no legal instruments or acknowledgements of debt, which are granted on an open account basis. A variant of accounts payable is bills/notes payable. Unlike the open account nature of accounts payable, bills/notes payable represent documentary evidence of credit purchases and a formal acknowledgement of obligation to pay for credit purchases on a maturity date, failing which legal action for recovery will follow. A notable feature of bills/notes payable is that they can be rediscounted and the seller does not necessarily have to hold it until maturity to receive payment. However, it creates a legally enforceable obligation on the buyer of goods to pay on maturity whereas the accounts payable have more flexible payment obligations. Although most trade credit is on open account as accounts payable, the suppliers of goods do not extend credit indiscriminately. Their decision as well as the quantum is based on a consideration of factors such as earnings record over a period of time, liquidity position of the firm and past record of payment. Home Equity Loan Information - What Is A Home Equity Line Of Credit?

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder Did you know that if you have a home that youve been paying on for years, you may have a lot of usable money right under your nose? Whats more, a home equity loan just may be the perfect way to get your hands on that money! Heres how it works. Lets imagine that your home mortgage is for $250,000, but after years of paying on that note, you only owe the mortgage company $100,000. In this instance, you would have $150,000 in equity in your home. A home equity loan is a specific type of loan that will allow you to borrow against that equity. Why would you want to do this? The number one reason that people take out home equity loans is as a means to consolidate their debt. Because a home equity loan is a secured loan, the interest rates are considerably lower than that of credit credits or personal loans. And so if a person had $10,000 in credit card debt, they could reduce the total amount of owedas well as their monthly paymentsby taking out a home equity loan and using the cash to pay off their credit card debt. Another great reason for taking out a home equity loan is to make improvements on your home. Have you been thinking about adding a swimming pool to your backyard? A greenhouse to your yard? A new bedroom or bathroom addition? A home equity loan is a great way to finance those types of projects. Your first step should be to talk to your current mortgage company about your options, but dont stop there. You will quickly find that there are plenty of companies who are willing to lend you money against your house, and so you should shop around for the best deal. And that brings us to our final point. A home equity loan is secured by your home. What that means is that if you dont make the payments on time, the lender will have the right to take your home and sell it in order to collect on the debt. Make sure that you are in a position to pay back any amount you borrow against your home! How to Use Natural Remedies for Ulcers Caused by Helicobacter Pylori

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Rudy Silva One of the bacteria that live in your mouth and cause gingivitis is the helicobacter pylori or H. pylori. This bacterium is transmitted by kissing. Everyone have this bacterium in his or her mouth and stomach. You mostly likely got this when you were a youngster and were kissed by your parents and all kinds of relatives. When these bacteria enter your stomach and small intestine, they wait for an opportunity to multiple. When you eat junk food, overeat, mix foods incorrectly, use NASIDs or have continual stress, excess stomach acid is created. This weakens the stomach lining and gives H. pylori a chance to imbed into these weak areas and multiple. So, how to do you use natural remedies to relieve a stomach ulcer? There are to two proven methods to do this. First you can use Mastic Gum.In a recent issue of Life Enhancement Ezine, this story appeared, My daughter was diagnosed with H. pylori. When her doctor insisted on giving her antibiotics, she declined, and the doctor thought she was foolish for doing so. Instead, my daughter went on a Bye-Lori II regimen. After 4 weeks, she was tested again, and her H. pylori levels had plummeted, showing a 50% decrease in the pathogen. Needless to say, her doctor was amazed. Mariann Hardington, OntarioBye-lori II is product that contains mastic gum. Pure mastic gum capsules are available. Mastic gum, a resin, comes from the sap of the mastic tree in the Mediterranean. Mastic gums action in the stomach or intestines is to kill the H. pyloric bacteria and to reduce and heal the ulcer inflammation. Second you can use Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice or DLG.DLG is a natural product made from the herb licorice root. Researchers have found DLG just as effective in treating ulcer as using the drugs Tagament, Zantac, Prilosec, or Prevacid. DLG stimulates release of secretin, which protects the lining of the stomach or intestines. In the past, antacids were used to self-treat ulcers. Because antacids have excess sodium, aluminum, side effects such as diarrhea, constipation, and raise stomach acid, it is best not to use them. DLG comes in tablets that should be chewed or dissolved in the mouth. DGL is activated by saliva to produce chemicals that help to regenerate cells in inflamed areas of your stomach and intestines. Typical use for DLG is 750 to 1500 mg taken 30 minutes before meals. Use for around 7 15 weeks/. Rudy Silva has a degree in Physics and is a Natural Nutritionist. When A Car Is A Necessity, Rely On Adverse Credit Car Loans

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amanda_Pane]Amanda Pane To be a car owner is every mans dream but the limited funds seldom give you enough opportunity to finance a mean machine. It becomes more difficult if your credit records are not upto the mark and a car becomes a necessity. To tackle such frustrating situation and to release the pressure, you can make the best use of the option available in the form of adverse credit car loans. You can avail adverse credit car loans through a smooth and simple process but before applying for the loan, check out with your credit score. Your credit score is calculated on the FICO credit score scale and if it is 600 or below, you will be considered as a risky borrower. You might have damaged your credit record through default, arrears or faced County Court Judgments or even filed for bankruptcy. Nevertheless, paying off easy debts could help you in improving credit score might impress lenders. Result? A relaxed policy! Moreover, if you are ready to use your car as collateral, obtaining adverse credit car loans can become lot easier. As the lender has the security of your car, you can take out a loan at a very competitive APR with comparatively easy repayment tenure. You can also negotiate with the lender for some relaxations in the repayment terms and conditions. But you will have to be really very particular about the monthly repayments as you have already vested the legal rights over your car in the lender who might repossess it if your agreement expires before you repay the loan amount and the interest you owe on it. Alternatively, you can apply for [http://www.ecar-loans.co.uk/carloans.html]adverse credit car loans without offering any kind of security to the lender. This may save you from the giving up the legal rights to the lender but in the absence of any collateral, the lender charges a high rate of interest to the borrowers with a tarnished credit history. You would be asked to pay the loan in a shorter duration than all the other conventional loan products to recover the maximum amount from you. Meanwhile you can also use the Internet to search for a good offer. You can borrow adverse credit car loans for buying a used car if you are not confident about your driving skill or when you want to spend less on a necessary luxury. Whatever you decide based on your needs, apply online to save your time and get the satisfying value for your money. Commercial Construction Loans

Monday, February 25th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kevin_Stith]Kevin Stith Commercial construction loans are loans aimed at building of a profitable business or corporation. The expansion of existing businesses or industries can also be achieved through commercial construction loans. When someone considers starting a profitable business or expanding his existing one, one option to achieve his goals is to apply for such a loan. The benefits, terms, and rates are very different among the different financial institutions, and they are described below. First of all, if you plan to apply for a commercial construction loan, you have to weigh the pros and cons. The first things you need to check are the benefits and the abilities that the financial institution will provide you. Most financial institutions offer loans ranging from $25,000 up to $5,000,000. Are your expectations within those bounds? If not, maybe you should consider getting a commercial renovation loan, ranging from $5,000 up to $50,000. Also, there are always many adjustable rate programs available. Have you considered any of them? Financial institutions provide a fixed rate for an initial period of time and then lockable interest rates for intervals of a few years (usually one, two, and five years). For the exact value of the initial (as well as the upcoming) rates, usually you have to contact the various financial institutions and then get an offer from each one. Also, the terms of the loan are very different from project to project. In order to get exact values, you should have a very clear vision of what you want to achieve. The experts from the financial institutions will assist you on those subjects. However, dont expect them to build up your plans. You are the first and only one to know what you are trying to achieve. Like with every loan, commercial construction loans can be both a good and a bad movement in the long run. Before you settle down to a decision, you first have to weigh in all the factors. Hydroponics Gardening - An Introduction To Hydroponics Gardening For Beginners (Part 6) The Autopot

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

By John R. Haughton THE BASICS OF HYDROPONICS The Advantages of The Autopot System - Even Outdoors in The United Kingdom. The basic Autopot System consists of a plant pot on a membrane in a container. This container has a SmartValve built into it which is fed from a nutrient tank.As the plant in the pot uses nutrient the level of nutrient in the Autopot container is maintained by the SmartValve. This means that the plant always hasthe optimum level of nutrient at its disposal. As the plant grows and needs more nourishment, the SmartValve opens more frequently to replenish the nutrient supply from the tank. Because the plant pot is sat on a membrane, it will only take up what it needs in the way of moisture. This system ensures that the plant does not become too wet and drown or rot, neither can it dry out provided that the tank is kept topped up. In our climate in the United Kingdom, where rainfall is often quite high and sunshine limited, I have found that the results obtained with the Autopot system have far outstripped those of a coventional system of soil and a growbag. These results have only been studied using tomatoes, however I have no doubt that the same benefits would apply to virtually any type of plant. I have grown a crop of tomatoes from seed this year and for the first time tried the Autopot system against a growbag and against pots hand watered with nutrient solution. The substrate used was washed coco. The seedlings were grown on to about 4″ in height using rockwool cubes and a small propagation tray. They were transplanted into 8″ pots (3 plants per pot.) and the pots placed in either Autopot systems or into containers about 2″ deep. Some were planted in soil in Growbags. The Autopots were connected to a nutrient tank and the trayed pots were watered twice daily using nutrient from the same tank. The plants in the Growbags were watered daily and had plant food added to the water as directed on the container. It was found that the Grobag plants did not grow as well as the others and fruited less abundantly. The plants in pots and container trays fruited well, but during hot spells needed more frequent watering as the coco does not retain moisture. By far the best results were obtained from the Autopots. The plants grew quickly and were soon very well established. The root balls soon became dense and well formed. Within a short time the plants became sturdier than there less fortunate siblings and started to flower. I had deliberately done no maintainance with any of the plants. they were planted, fed andleft to grow without interference. This meant that the crops would be smaller than if I had pinched out the shoots, but there could be no discrepancy due to better maintainance. The results were quite staggering. The trayed plants produced some 250% - 300% more fruit than the Growbags and the Autopot had at least double the crop produced by the trayed plants. The only drawback with the Autopot was that when it rained the water ran back into the nutrient container causing it to overfill. This problem did not seem to be detrimental to the plant’s growth or yield. Copyright (C) 2004, 2005. Oil Painting Tips - All About Oil Painting Brushes

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

By Ralph Serpe Oil painting brushes come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes and this can sometimes overwhelm a beginner. This article will provide you with an overview of the various oil painting brushes available and help you decide what kind of brushes you should invest in. BRUSH TEXTURES Oil painting brushes come in two different textures basically, and they are classified as hard and soft. Hard brushes are generally referred to as bristle brushes and they are quite resilient. Hard brushes are made from hog’s hair and they are strong and stiff. They will hold a good amount of paint and can handle the oil painting medium quite well. I personally prefer working with bristle brushes exclusively as I tend to paint rather rough and direct. Soft oil painting brushes are made from softer hairs that come from animals like sable, squirrel, or mongoose. Softer brushes will generally give your painting a softer smoother appearance and are more often used for finishing or detailed work. Sable brushes are the most expensive usually but there are synthetic brushes made of nylon that are very good substitutes for sable. They are more resilient and cheaper than sable. BRUSH SHAPES There are five shapes to brushes that are generally used and each is meant to have its own function. I prefer to paint with flats, brights and fliberts of various sizes, and only occasionally make use of the other shapes. This is my preference and you will certainly develop your own the longer you paint with oils. Flats Flat oil painting brushes have a wide square end with medium to long hairs. Flat brushes generally have a lot of spring to them and can hold a lot of paint. You can use these brushes for broad sweeping strokes or you can turn the brush on its edge to create fine lines. Flat brushes are great for earlier stages of a painting when you are blocking in large areas. Brights Bright oil painting brushes are similar in shape to flat brushes but the hairs are shorter. They are best used for making shorter controlled strokes. They do not hold nearly as much paint as a flat brush. Filbert The filbert is also similar to the flat brush only the edge of the brush comes to a rounded shape. The hairs of the filbert are medium to long in length. This rounded shape will give you more control then a bright. The filbert is great for blending and figurative work. Rounds A round oil painting brush has a round or pointed tip. They hold a nice amount of paint and are great for making thin or thick lines. Use this brush for dabbing on dots or blotches of color. Round brushes are also good for washes, fills and detailed work. They are not suited for creating hard straight edges. Fans The fan oil painting brush is a flat fan shaped brush. The fan brush is a specialized brush. It is either used very often by the artist or not at all. It really depends on your style of painting. This brush is not suited for holding paint. It is used more often for blending colors and you should keep this brush clean and dry if you plan to do a lot of blending during a session. The brush will begin to lose its effectiveness when it becomes filled with paint. You may want to keep a few extras on hand. BRUSH SIZE Oil painting brushes come in a variety of sizes indicated by numbers as in 1,2,4,6,8,10; size 1 being the smallest and 10 the largest in this example. BRUSH MANUFACTURERS Oil painting brushes are made by a number of different manufacturers. A few of the more popular brands are Winsor & Newton, Silver Brush and Robert Simmons. Some artists prefer one brand over another. Other artists like to have an assortment of different brands available. The only way you will know what you like best is by working with the brushes yourself. CARING FOR YOUR BRUSHES No matter what brush you buy, whether they are top of the line expensive brushes, or cheaper ones, you will definitely get more life out of them if you care for them properly. There seems to be a difference of opinion when it comes to brush care, especially when it comes to drying your brushes. I personally have two products on hand for cleaning and conditioning my brushes: Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver and Mona Lisa Pink Brush Soap. I have found that the Masters Brush Cleaner works great on brushes that are deeply stained and hardened with paint, that I would have otherwise thrown out. I use the Mona Lisa Pink Brush Soap to clean my brushes right after a painting session. These cleaners will also help condition your brushes. After washing my brushes with either of these cleaners, I then attach a clothes pin to the handle of the brush and rest the clothes pin on the edge of a counter or table so that the brush is hanging with the bristles pointing toward the floor. Gravity then pulls the moisture from the brush so that it does not collect in the ferrule, which can damage a brush over time. For more free oil painting lessons visit: http://www.creativespotlite.com/oil-painting.htm today! Wilted Hangups

Monday, February 18th, 2008

By Tammy Clayton Well-dressed porches everywhere wear colorful hanging baskets and fantastic mixed containers for summer. Even if the occupants budget only allows one 10 pot hanging pot there will be brilliant color somewhere on that porch. The well-dressed porch is a must do thing whether your porch is a tiny point of entry or a Victorian wrap-around the code is that flowers are supposed to spill color from the facia toward the ground. If there is a railing then an assortment of pots and more plants of varying types begin to cluster up on the flat surface. Planter boxes and clay pots appear like runway markers down the sides of wide front porch steps. Stately terra cotta pots and urns mark the front approach to many a home. Many different styles of well-dressed porches can be chosen from and created but the fact remains that you must dress that porch. I am all for this dressing of porches. There is no bare rail space left on my own deck any summer. There have been years that the front porch was virtually hidden behind the curtain of flowers and ferns. Greenhouses across America do a fabulous job of turning out a lot of beautiful annual containers. Delight will seize your senses the moment you step into the retail greenhouse in April and May. The warm humid atmosphere is a jungle of rainbow colors all grown to perfection. Your hair may go flat in there but it is worth the leisurely trip down the aisles. It could be hours later before you can manage to drag yourself back outside again. The showing of jungle flora at its finest can hold rapt attention for very long spans of time. The selection of the perfect color statement for the porch is not made quickly or easily; finally you complete the mission inside the glass bubble. The pots are loaded into your vehicle and you are off to deck out your porch and patio. Some merely hang the pots just as they are from the hooks at the roofline. Others remove the hanger and slid into the yawning cavity of ornamental pots and urns strategically place for visual effect. Moss baskets, clean plastic pots and new terra cotta all filled with a garden of earthly delights festoon porches, decks and patios from sea to shining sea by Memorial Day. The greenhouse did its job keeping that container feed and watered in optimum performance levels at perfect temperatures for its rapid growth. The fact that you get to cast your eyes upon that beauty every day fills your soul with a feeling nothing else would impart. The convenience of being able to walk in a store and carry out very mature and lovely mixtures of plants only hardy in the tropics is one that America enjoys with gusto. The adoption of a moss basket while visually stunning compared to the same in a plastic hanging pot shows you nothing of the road that lies ahead for the two of you. Consumers like the fact that that huge 15 moss basket is light as a feather and easy to tote around. The one fact that everyone seems to not grasp is that the beautiful things you have just adopted are planted in a mixture designed to not hold moisture and drain out very rapidly. Those plants are addicted to drip-line water and food intravenous nutrition turned on and off by a computer if you will. While they will adjust to you only feeding them once a month, they cannot go without the correct amount of moisture throughout a day in the hot dry air and relentless sun. Not if you want them to remain lush and alive, which is most likely the full intention behind you purchasing them. Plastic containers planted by a greenhouse will hold moisture twice as long as a moss basket. The breeze can go right through the moss causing it to air-dry the potting medium at a rapid pace, add heat to that air and the dryness happens even faster. Inside a greenhouse there is no breeze, the still air is filled with humidity. That non-moving humid atmosphere breeds pests and disease. To ward off rot and other unwanted occurrences, the growers must use rapidly drying content in their pots or face loosing vast quantities of plants to problems that occur in the greenhouse bubble. Once out in the real world, you must supply enough moisture to the same pots to help them thrive in an alien atmosphere. Fuchsias in moss baskets even when watered before you left for work will most likely be beginning to droop by about 2 pm and you will not be home for at least 4 more hours. If you only for one evening forget to water those Ivy Geraniums they will show signs of damage by the next morning. An occasional slip up is usually repairable, but let it happen one too many times and you will undoubtedly have a basket full of toast colored has-beens. The best outcome with all of these beautiful plants is achieved if you repot them in a larger container than the one you got it in with real soil mixed with a bit of sphagnum and pearlite for drainage and cover the top of that sphagnum core with some soil as well. That simple inch of soil around and under the existing quick-dry core will help it hold moisture better until you return home at the end of the day. Real soil in a moss basket is not going to work however as the soil will wash out with draining water and deposit mud on the floor beneath it. Moss baskets are very thirsty things. You might consider creating your own drip-line irrigation system for them and other hanging baskets. All the parts are available at Home Depot, including inexpensive timers you can put on your hose and set to go on and off at intervals throughout the day. This would be the optimum solution as even when you go on vacation, it will water your hanging pots and you will not have to rely on a neighbor or family member to do this for you. I have found that I have far better luck with my annual baskets if I buy the plants small and pot the baskets myself with real soil and pearlite so they do not get water logged. No the pots will not be overflowing until the end of June, but if I forget to water them one night they will be fine and not get too dry before the next morning. I can with my busy schedule keep nice looking plants on the front porch until the frost takes them out at the end of well-dressed porch season. One of these days when I find the time to install a drip-line water system I will go back to buying my hanging plant baskets from a local greenhouse. Until them, I am just as happy with not cooking them all to a crisp while I am madly dashing through my hectic schedule that does not take me past the front porch so that I am reminded to water the plants everyone sees from the road. Some day I will have lovely moss baskets of fabulous red & purple Fuchsias there instead of dependable old Geraniums. Want To Breathe Properly? Learn Buteyko

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

By Eric Cho Buteyko is a breathing technique that seeks to re-train people with breathing disorders. The program deals with people suffering from asthma or other breathing problems and tries to change their breathing patterns to reduce symptoms of the ailment. When symptoms are reduced, medications too become redundant. People suffering from sleep disorders, breathing disorders, sinus or hay fever can be retrained to control their symptoms. With the help of Buteyko, it is possible to reduce or even eliminate the use of medication safely. As with any holistic healing process the breathing patterns used in Buteyko also helps to increase energy levels, thereby making the individual feel healthy and buoyant. About fifty years ago, Dr. Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko noticed that the more ill people became, the more they needed to breathe in. Bringing the volume of their breath back to normal led to an elimination of symptoms and even helped normalize their discomfort. To put it very simplistically, he said that the more you breathe, the closer you are to death. Conversely, the less you breathe the healthier you get. To make it effective, Dr. Buteyko developed a method of breathing that allowed people to use a lesser volume of air effectively for all body purposes. In a short span of time, people with cardiovascular diseases, allergies, high blood pressure, immunity problems, chronic fatigue and stress-related problems show drastic improvement. Breath holding and the controlled reduction of ventilation are the twin pillars on which the Buteyko method stands. Many people believe that the purpose of breathing is to get in as much oxygen as possible. However they are totally ignorant of the need to maintain a balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the body. A body that is depleted of carbon dioxide (as is often the case when we over-breathe) cannot make optimum use of the oxygen supply. Thus the tissues suffer from oxygen depletion. This leads to disease. Thus there are two kinds of breathing good breathing and bad breathing. Allergic reactions and breathing problems are some of the common manifestations of bad breathing. The body creates nasal restrictions to restrict the CO2 levels and this appears as sinusitis, nasal polyps, asthma and bronchitis. According to Dr. Buteyko a healthy individual should be able to hold his breath for forty seconds after a normal expiration. Asthmatics can barely hold theirs for more than 10 seconds. Even people with overt breathing problems cannot stay too long without gasping for air. Since most of us are totally unaware of our breathing processes, we are also unaware of how this pattern changes and how it affects our health. Many factors contribute to bad breathing. For instance, the lack of exercise or even an excess of it can lead to increased CO2 levels in our body. Even the highly processed food we eat leads to breathing problems. Stress and tension, over wrought emotions are just some other factors that contribute. By focusing on breathing techniques one is able to purposely induce calm by breathing properly. This helps to calm the nervous system and normalize body functions. The Buteyko system is probably the only form of breath-retraining that teaches people to reduce their air intake while maintaining a relaxed diaphragm. This technique usually needs guidance from a trained Buteyko practitioner. Most practitioners teach breathing techniques over a five day period. Once the technique is learnt, it can be practiced by the individual on his own. The Best Way to Carry Your Bait While Fishing

Friday, February 15th, 2008

By Trevor Kugler Have you ever gone fishing with worms and had to carry that bulky Styrofoam container with you? Either in your hands or in your fishing vest? Isn’t this a pain in the butt? I personally used to hate it. Then I discovered a simple solution..a bait sock. That’s right, a bait sock. The next time that your in your sock drawer, find one of those socks that don’t have a partner. Take that single sock and measure up about eight inches from where your toes would go and cut the sock off. This creates a “bait sock”. Now simply use a safety pin to attach the “bait sock” to your fishing vest. The next time you go bait fishing, especially with worms, simply remove the worms from their Styrofoam container and place them into the sock. Not the dirt, just the worms. Now you have your worms literally at your fingertips, waiting to be used. And don’t worry about the little buggers crawling out of the sock, for some reason they don’t. The worms just ball up together and wait. If it’s hot outside simply dip the sock into the water for a moment to moisten the sock. Doing this every hour or so will keep the worms fresh and lively. Making this little bait carrier is simple, easy, and cheap, so why not give it a try?
